Profile
Cricket was introduced into Nepal by the early twentieth century by the ruling Rana clan who returned from studies in India and England enthused with the game, establishing a number of grounds near the royal palaces. The Cricket Association of Nepal was founded in 1946, and became a member of the Asian Cricket Council in 1994. Nepal participated in the Under-19 World Cup in 1999, 2002 and 2004, and the ICC Trophy for the first time in 2001.
